Adaptive Recreation

The City of Dublin is committed to promoting physical health, mental well-being, and a strong sense of community through its recreation programs. In an effort to ensure that all residents regardless of physical or cognitive ability can participate in recreation activities and programs, the Parks and Community Services Department is proud to introduce Adaptive Recreation and Inclusive Programs.

These programs are designed to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment where individuals of all abilities can engage in different activities tailored to meet their unique needs.

Dublin Dynamic Kids

Join us for the debut of a new adaptive program, Dublin Dynamic Kids! This program will feature monthly offerings for youth ages 3-11, with developmental disabilities. It is a safe place for participants and parents to enjoy and experience various programs and activities catered to participants’ abilities. All participants must have a parent, guardian, or aide with them while in attendance. Each session will feature different themes with planned gym activities, and arts & crafts, along with a "Zen Den" being readily available for use with low activity, sensory-friendly toys.

Thank you for joining us for the introduction of Dublin Dynamic Kids

We’re excited to continue the program! As new dates are scheduled, they will be posted here.

Please check back soon for updates.

Sensory Splash

Sensory Splash is designed for individuals with special needs and their families to visit The Wave (aquatic facility) in a calm, sensory-friendly environment. Offered on various Sundays from October through April, Sensory Splash will take place in the Natatorium, our indoor heated pool. The music is turned off, and whistles will only be used by lifeguards in emergencies. Sensory-friendly toys and a designated quiet space will be provided. We aim to help our friends with special needs and their families enjoy recreation swimming in a calm environment.
