Cheza Nami and the City of Dublin Present: "Moving Together"

Friday, February 3, and

Saturday, February 4

Dublin High School Center for Performing Arts and Education

(8151 Village Parkway)

The Essence show is a collaborative performance that explores the rich musical legacy and cultures across the African Diaspora including Cuba, Brazil, Kenya, Congo, and several West African Cultures (Guinea, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, and others). This collage stitches together our individual stories to bring power to our collective voice, and is the culminating effort of our artistic convenings to bridge our communities together through song and dance.

We welcome the community to join us in this effort to build bridges and find our collective common ground. This particular installation is part of Cheza Nami’s ongoing effort to create a platform that celebrates “Our Essence.” We believe that, as ambassadors of African and African-rooted culture, we must be fully engaged in telling our stories in meaningful ways that enrich our communities and provide educational and cultural awareness through our programs to our fellow citizens.

Community workshops will take place on Friday, February 3, and Saturday, February 4.

Essence Show - Saturday, February 4, at 7:30 p.m.
