Overlay 2024
2024 Overlay Project Overview
Also known as “Mill and Fill,” this treatment targets pavement that is at‐risk to fair condition without signs of load‐related distress. The treatment generally involves grinding the edges of existing pavement and placing a new layer of asphalt concrete on top of the existing pavement. Asphalt concrete, also known as Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), is a mixture of asphalt oil, crushed rock, gravel, and sand.
The project includes an asphalt overlay for improved roadway performance and lifespan of Dublin Boulevard, John Monego Court, and the Tassajara Creek pedestrian trail, removal and replacement of existing concrete curb ramps and minor modifications to traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Dublin Boulevard and John Monego Court.

How will this work affect you as a resident or business?
The work associated with this project will require traffic control and daytime lane closures along Dublin Boulevard, between Myrtle Drive and Glynnis Rose Drive, and at John Monego Court.
Parking
While the work is in progress, the City’s contractor may need to prohibit parking on the street. The contractor will post “No Parking” signs a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) in advance of the scheduled work on your street. Please be aware that, due to the possibility of unforeseen circumstances, such as equipment breakdowns and inclement weather, the posted dates and times could change. You may continue to park on the street until the date and time shown on the signs. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the temporary “No Parking” restrictions. If you are planning to be out of town during the time that the work is to take place, please arrange to park your vehicle(s) off of the street to avoid having your vehicle(s) towed. Emergency vehicles will have access to the streets at all times.
Driving on the Street
During several of the construction activities for this project, street access will be intermittently restricted. Streets will be opened to traffic and access to driveways will be available at the end of each day.
Businesses along John Monego Court
Businesses along John Monego Court will remain open during the project. Even though there will be temporary lane closures along John Monego Court, access to the businesses will be maintained at all times with potential detours.
The Overlay Project will be working at night on John Monego Ct. on 10/6 & 10/7 from 8pm – 5am. They will be performing wedge grinding and overlay.
We apologize in advance for any disruption caused by this work. Thank you for your cooperation as the City of Dublin invests in maintaining your streets.
