Slurry Seal 2024
2024 Slurry Seal Project Overview
The 2024 Slurry Seal project includes sealing of existing cracks, localized pavement repairs, new slurry seal, and pavement striping and markings. The project will rehabilitate approximately 51 street segments with over 1.5 million square feet of slurry seal installed. During several phases of work for this project, parking and temporary lane closure restrictions will be in place.
Beginning July 8 and through July 17, various streets will be closed for 4-8 hours to apply the actual slurry seal solution to various streets and allow for its cure prior to releasing it to traffic. The slurry application will take place at the various streets in a “staged” fashion to allow streets close by for adjacent residents to park on a scheduled day. Care has been taken install traffic detours when needed and to avoid garbage collection days conflicting with the work.

How will this work affect you as a resident or business?
On the day your street is noticed to be slurry sealed, it will be closed to traffic and you will not be allowed to drive, walk, or ride a bike on the asphalt street until the slurry seal has properly cured and the road is reopened. If you need to use your vehicle on the day your road is closed, please park it on an adjacent street not being sealed that day. Please look for the “No Parking” restrictions. It is very important that you do not drive or walk on freshly installed slurry. Slurry seal will stick to the vehicle and will track onto sidewalks, driveways, carpet and flooring and will damage those finishes.
Parking
While the work is in progress, the City’s contractor may need to prohibit parking on the street. The contractor will post “No Parking” signs a minimum of 72 hours (3 days) in advance of the scheduled work on your street. Please be aware that, due to the possibility of unforeseen circumstances, such as equipment breakdowns and inclement weather, the posted dates and times could change. You may continue to park on the street until the date and time shown on the signs. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to the temporary “No Parking" restrictions. If you are planning to be out of town during the time that the work is to take place, please arrange to park your vehicle(s) off of the street to avoid having your vehicle(s) towed. Emergency vehicles will have access to the streets at all times.
Driving on the Street
During several of the construction activities for this project, street access may be intermittently restricted. Streets will be opened to traffic and access to driveways will be available at the end of each day.
Street Closure
During the slurry seal process, your street or a part of your street will be closed to vehicular traffic for a period of 4-6 hours or longer, as necessary, to allow the material to be installed and dry.
We apologize in advance for any disruption caused by this work. Thank you for your cooperation as the City of Dublin invests in maintaining your streets.
