Major Transportation Projects
As Dublin embarks on multiple road and infrastructure improvement projects over the next few years, our goal is to keep our residents and visitors informed of what projects are happening, where they are located, how these projects impact you and the future of our community, and what you can expect during construction.
Current Projects
-
Dublin Boulevard Extension
This project is planned for the 1.5 mile extension of Dublin Boulevard from Fallon Road to North Canyons Parkway in Livermore. The extension is planned to have four to six travel lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, curb and gutter, traffic signals, street lighting, landscaped raised median islands, bus stops, and all city street utilities. This project requires preliminary engineering including a feasibility analysis to define the new roadway alignment, design cross-section, right of way, and environmental clearance before it can be moved forward for design and construction.
-
Iron Horse Trail Dublin Boulevard Overcrossing
The primary objective of the Iron Horse Trail - Dublin Boulevard Overcrossing Project is to provide a safe crossing for Trail users and facilitate improved traffic flow along Dublin Boulevard by providing a grade-separated bridge crossing over Dublin Boulevard for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Tassajara Road Arterial Management Project
This project will include a traffic signal timing analysis, upgraded equipment, and the development and implementation of signal coordination plans during the morning, midday, and afternoon peak travel periods for the 11 signals along Tassajara Road/Santa Rita corridor.
-
Tassajara Road Realignment
The project provides for the planning, engineering, and construction to realign Tassajara Road between Palisades Drive and the City of Dublin/Contra Costa County border, continuing north to Windemere Parkway. Work will include widening the segment of Tassajara Road from two to four lanes, adding new bike lanes, sidewalks, a landscaped median, stormwater treatment areas, and other associated street improvements.
-
Tassajara Road Widening
This project provides for design and construction of street improvements on Tassajara Road, between North Dublin Ranch Drive and Quarry Lane School. The project will widen Tassajara Road to a four-lane arterial standard, with bike lanes, sidewalks, landscaped median, stormwater treatment areas, and other associated street improvements.
-
Valley Link Rail Project
This important project will connect Northern San Joaquin County communities to the Tri-Valley and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) through frequent and fast rail service via the route of the historic Transcontinental Railroad right-of-way through the Altamont Pass. This approximately 12-mile, abandoned right-of-way, deeded to Alameda County by Southern Pacific in 1984, provides an unprecedented opportunity to deliver a fast and efficient inter-regional rail service - connecting people, housing and jobs in the Northern California region and providing much-needed congestion relief in one of the Bay Area’s most congested corridors.
