Security Camera Registration

Private Security Camera Registration

Do you currently utilize private security cameras at your home or business?  Security cameras are one of the best methods for apprehending criminals and convicting suspects who are caught in the act of committing a crime.

Installing security cameras, and allowing Dublin Police access to your camera, is a great example of a community-police partnership and is something that Dublin Police values very highly.

If you would like to tell us that you have security cameras and allow officers to contact you should a crime occur in the vicinity of where your cameras are installed, please fill out the secure registration form.   If you are planning on installing security cameras, Dublin Police Services recommends that you purchase a system with 1080P resolution or higher.

Camera registration is voluntary and there is no cost associated with registration.  Registering your camera cannot provide Dublin Police with direct access to your camera.  An individual's personal information will be kept confidential by the City of Dublin unless subject to disclosure by court order. Your information will only be accessed by law enforcement personnel who are investigating a crime in the vicinity of where your camera is located.  Police personnel, if necessary, may request a copy of any video captured by your camera, which may assist in the investigation of a crime.

If you have registered your cameras with Dublin Police, please feel free to download a sign to let police and visitors know that your property has security cameras on the premises.  This is also a great way to deter crime.

Please note:

Cameras can be mounted on private property only.  Cameras cannot be mounted on telephone poles, street lights, or other poles in your neighborhood.  Cameras cannot be directed into private or other residential windows.

Please contact the Dublin Police Crime Prevention Unit at (925) 833-6677 or (925) 833-6686 for more information.
