File a Dublin (CA) Police Report Online

Filing a Police Report Online
Welcome to the Dublin Police Services (DPS) Online Police Reporting System. This service allows you to submit certain types of police reports immediately and print a free copy for your records. The following incidents can be reported using this online reporting system*:
- Lost Property
- Theft – Value under $950 (excluding firearms, vehicles, and license plates)
- Vandalism
- Vehicle Tampering – A vehicle was disturbed without damage
- Hit-and-Run
- Harassing Phone Calls
- Civil Matters
- Supplemental Reports – Additional information related to an already existing report
* If there are known suspects or evidence, an online report cannot be filed and your report will be denied, even if it does fall into one of the above incident types.
Before You Begin:
If you answer NO to all of the following questions, you may proceed with filing your report online:
Is this an emergency?
- If yes, call 9-1-1.
Are there any known suspects or items of evidentiary value?
- If yes, call our non-emergency number at (925)462-1212 to have a DPS officer respond.
Did the incident occur outside the City of Dublin, California?
- If yes, contact the law enforcement agency where the incident occurred.
Did the incident occur on a state highway/freeway?
- If yes, contact the California Highway Patrol @ 1-800-TELL-CHP (1-800-835-5247)
Once You Submit Your Online Report:
- You’ll see this confirmation message, “Your online police report has been submitted,” and you will be issued a temporary report number. This is NOT your official report number.
- Your report will be reviewed by a DPS staff member to ensure it meets the criteria for online report submission.
- If your report is denied, you will receive an email informing you of the reason(s) for the denial.
- If your report is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with your official DPS report number.
- You can print a copy of the report for your records.
Please Note:
- All online reports are reviewed by DPS personnel.
- You may be contacted for additional information or follow-up investigation.
- Knowingly filing a false police report is a crime, per Penal Code § 148.5(a) PC).
