[ARCHIVED] Reusable Bag Ordinance Goes Into Effect on January 1

Starting January 1, 2013, the reusable bag ordinance is in effect which states grocery stores, mini-marts, and other stores selling packaged food must provide bags made of recycled paper with a minimum charge of 10 cents per bag. The countywide ordinance is intended to save valuable natural resources, reduce litter, and reduce the cost to the public of litter cleanup.
