[ARCHIVED] City of Dublin Introduces, "Dublin Dynamic Kids," for Children with Developmental Disabilities

The City of Dublin introduces a new monthly program for youth, ages 3-11, with developmental disabilities. "Dublin Dynamic Kids" is a safe place for participants and parents to enjoy and experience various programs and activities catered to participants’ abilities.  Each session will feature different themes with planned gym activities and arts and crafts, along with a "Zen Den" being readily available for use with low activity, sensory-friendly toys.  All participants must have a parent, guardian, or aide with them while in attendance.

Upcoming programs include:

  • March 22: "All Sorts of Adaptive Sports"
  • April 26: "Superhero Day"
  • May 24: "Around the World"

Another adaptive recreation program is "Sensory Splash," for individuals with special needs and their families to visit The Wave (aquatic facility) in a calm, sensory-friendly environment. Offered on various Sundays from October through April, Sensory Splash takes place in the Natatorium, our indoor heated pool. The music is turned off, and whistles will only be used by lifeguards in emergencies. Sensory-friendly toys and a designated quiet space will be provided. The next Sensory Splash program will take place on Sunday, April 6, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
