[ARCHIVED] Scam Alert: Individual Impersonating a Police Officer

On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, A Dublin resident received a phone call from someone identifying himself as a sergeant with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. The citizen suspected it was a scam and called Dublin Police Services to identify the message's authenticity.  

The citizen was assured that staff from Dublin Police Services or the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office did not attempt to contact her and that the message was a scam. Detectives are in the process of investigating this incident and trying to identify a suspect. Dublin Police Services encourages its residents to contact the front desk at 925-833-6670 upon receiving a call suspected of being a scam or if someone is impersonating a police officer.  Efforts will be made to determine the validity of each incident.  

If you have received a phone call from 510-941-0249 or any number, and the caller has attempted to defraud you of any financial resources, please contact Dublin Police Services at 925-462-1212 or 510-667-7721 for unincorporated Alameda County residents.
