[ARCHIVED] May Fair

In celebration of Mother’s Day the City of Dublin invites the public to a May Fair on the picturesque Dublin Heritage Park & Museums on Saturday May 12, 2012, from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Fair will feature French music, a May Pole dance, French food and street vendors selling handmade and vintage goods.

“Le Hot Jazz Trio” performs from 1:30-4:30 pm. Join guitar virtuoso Paul Mehling’s Le Jazz Hot Trio of the Hot Club of San Francisco for a celebration of love songs and driving gypsy jazz made famous during the 1920s and ’30s by Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli, and their legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France. Magical guitar and fiddle solos take you on a ride down the Seine as Le Jazz Hot’s mix of sweet and sultry songs echo the historic “City of Light.”

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic and relax on the lawn. French foods will be available for sale including Brittany Crepes & Galettes. Elegant box lunches with croissant sandwich, cheese, fruit and French chocolates and delicious desserts, lemonade, iced tea, wine, champagne will also be for sale. Activities include the Dublin High School French Club providing basic French lessons, tour the park and cemetery in a hay wagon pulled by a vintage tractor, do the May Pole Dance and create crafts and Mother’s Day cards.

Stop in old St. Raymond Church to take a unique mother, child or family portrait in front of the Vintage French Photo-Op, so be sure to ring your camera. The museums, including the 1856 Murray Schoolhouse and the 1911 Craftsman Bungalow will be open between 1:00-4:00 pm.

The concert, photo-op and parking are free. A $5 wristband cover family activities. Food and Drink available for sale or you may bring a picnic. No alcohol and no dogs please.
