The City of Dublin will host its 5th Annual Splatter Festival on Saturday, September 17, at Emerald Glen Park (4201 Central Parkway). The event begins at noon and will conclude with an evening dance party concert by Livewire beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the festival is free; however, there is a charge for children’s carnival rides and games, and tasting tickets for the Tasting Garden.
Splatter is known for its fun, family-friendly art activities; unusual art installations; artist demonstrations; live music and dance performances; cooking demonstrations; craft and culinary marketplace; wine and beer tasting; and diverse food offerings.
New this year, the event will offer open-air Tasting Gardens instead of a closed Tasting Pavilion. This will allow guests to come and go more easily between the wine and beer tasting area and other activities at the festival. Guests will also have more flexibility to purchase just the number of wine and beer tasting tickets they wish, and purchase food directly from the vendors of their choice. Restaurants and food vendors offering samples, and smaller, less expensive tasting portions, will be noted on the menu boards and maps. The Food Truck Mafia will also be on hand with a wide variety of menu options.
Event parking is free. Limited parking will be available at and around the park, and at the Alameda County Public Works Agency (Barnet Boulevard and Gleason Drive). Complimentary shuttles will also run every 20 minutes from the Carl Zeiss Meditec parking lot (5160 Hacienda Drive) and the Dublin Park & Ride lot (at Koll Center Drive and Tassajara Road) to the festival. Complimentary, secure bike parking will be offered at the Emerald Glen tennis courts.
Splatter is produced by the City of Dublin’s Parks and Community Services Department, with sponsorship support from local businesses. For more information, call (925) 556-4500 or visit www.dublinsplatter.com.
