The City of Dublin has announced the winners of the 2025 "Nature in Our Backyard" Photography Contest. The deadline to submit pictures for the 2025 contest was March 31, 2025. By the deadline, 211 pictures were submitted by 86 different photographers. Photographers did not need to be Dublin residents, but submitted photographs had to be taken in Dublin, California, between April 2024 and April 1, 2025. In early April, a panel of judges reviewed all submissions and narrowed it down to a list of the top 10 best photographs. The community then voted for the Grand Prize winner, and first, second, and third place photographs.
The Grand Prize winner was Rajesh Subramani, for his photo entitled, "Pano." First Place was awarded to Ganesh Panneer for a photo entitled, "Eyes That See All." Second Place went to Jenny Qiu for her photograph, "Full Moon at the Dish." Third Place was awarded to Anthony Sicuranza for his photograph, "Great Egret of the Creek."
Mike's Camera in Dublin will provide gift certificates, as well as metal prints of their photographs, to the top four vote-getters. The winners will also be recognized at an upcoming Dublin City Council meeting. Framed photographs will also be displayed in the lobby at Dublin Civic Center.
