City of Dublin has announced the winners of the 2024 "Nature in Our Backyard" Photography Contest. The City received nearly 200 entries during the contest. Photographers did not need to be Dublin residents, but submitted photographs had to be taken in Dublin, California, between April 2023 and April 1, 2024. A panel of judges narrowed down the selection to the top 10 nature photographs, which were then posted on the City's website for a community vote. Residents had a chance to choose the top four winning photos.
Mike's Camera in Dublin will provide gift certificates, as well as metal prints of their photographs, to the top four vote-getters. The winners will also be recognized at an upcoming Dublin City Council meeting. Framed photographs will be displayed in the lobby at Dublin Civic Center.
The Grand Prize went to photographer Remy Begin for the photograph, "Double Dublin." First Prize went to Bharathi Kakilate for the photograph entitled, “Golden Serenity.” Second Prize was awarded to Prasad Takkar for the photo, “Fall," and Third Place was given to Rita Szollos for her photograph, “Seasons Bounty.”
