[ARCHIVED] Dublin Police to Hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Event on Saturday, April 20

CORRECTION: Dublin Police will be participating in this year's national prescription drug "Take-Back Initiative," on Saturday, April 20, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the parking lot at the Dublin Civic Center (100 Civic Plaza).  Only prescription pills, tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs will be accepted, no questions asked. Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes will not be accepted. Residents may also recycle e-waste and drop off documents for shredding at the event.

Prescription drug abuse is an epidemic in this country. Teenagers are abusing prescription medication in record numbers. One way young people are getting addicted to dangerous drugs is by raiding the medicine cabinets of their family and friends. This free, anonymous service will help keep your home safe and could save lives. For more information, call the Dublin Police Crime Prevention Unit at (925) 833-6670 or visit www.dea.gov.
