[ARCHIVED] How to Recycle Your Live Christmas Tree After the Holidays

It's not too early to start thinking about how to recycle your live Christmas tree after the holidays are over.  You can give your tree new life by recycling it!  For a donation of just $10 per tree, local Boy Scouts Troop 905 will pick up holiday trees from Dublin residents on Saturday, January 6, 2024.  Reservations are required.  To make a reservation, please visit http://troop905.org/ after December 1.  Reservations will be taken through 3:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.  Only clean trees will be accepted. No flocking or tinsel allowed.  Please remove the tree base or stand.

Amador Valley Industries (AVI) will also provide special holiday tree pickup on your regular service day, January 8 - 31, 2024. You may place your holiday tree at the curb by 5:30 a.m.  A truck exclusively for recycling holiday trees will collect the trees. Only clean trees will be taken (no flocking or tinsel).  Please cut trees down to four feet or less in height and remove bases or stands.  You may also recycle your tree in the green organics cart any time after the holidays. Your cart will be emptied on your regular service day. Tree branches and stumps must be cut up in lengths that will allow the lid to close securely.

Additionally, two large bins will also be available at the Dublin Sports Grounds parking lot (6700 Dublin Blvd.) beginning January 5 (end date TBA) for residents to drop off their trees for recycling.  Only clean trees are accepted.  Information on reservations and requirements can be found at https://amadorvalleyindustries.com/collection-schedule/.
