Collection Services

In the City of Dublin, Amador Valley Industries (AVI) provides weekly collection service for compost, recycling, and landfill. New Compost and Recycling Law

Effective January 1, 2022, a new California state law (SB 1383) goes into effect requiring food and compostable materials, including food scraps, food-soiled paper, cardboard, and yard trimmings to be kept out of landfills to prevent the production of methane, a potent greenhouse gas. In Alameda County, the law is implemented under the Organics Reduction and Recycling Ordinanc

Owners/managers of multifamily properties with five or more units must:

  • Subscribe to compost and recycling collection service. Contact AVI at 925-479-9545 to set up service if you don't already have it. 
  • Set up color-coded and labeled indoor bins. 
  • Ensure proper sorting.
  • Educate employees, contractors, and tenants about the law at least annually and during tenant move-in and move-out.
