2020 Volunteer Recognition Awards
At its annual Volunteer Recognition Awards, held on April 28, 2021, the City of Dublin announced its 2020 Citizen, Young Citizen, and Organization of the Year. The event was held virtually, during an evening ceremony broadcast live on Tri-Valley Community Television (TV30). Nominees and Dublin volunteer organizations participated through a Zoom video conference.
The purpose of the awards is to recognize outstanding individuals and groups who have contributed to the quality of life in Dublin this past year. The Young Citizen of the Year recognizes the volunteer service of Dublin's youth in 1st through 12th grade. Nomination criteria for both the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards are based on the Dublin Integrity In Action’s 10 Characteristics:
Mayor's Award Open Heart Kitchen This is a special award that the Mayor presents to those
whom she believes have worked tirelessly on behalf of the Dublin community in the past year.
Mayor's Legacy Award Connie Mack This is a special award that the Mayor presents to
an individual or group to recognize extraordinary, long-term dedication to the Dublin community.
The Organization of the Year received a $500 cash prize, and a $300 donation was given to both the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year's favorite non-profit organization(s). Additionally, the winners of the Citizen, Young Citizen, and Organization of the Year will be recognized at the May 18, 2021, City Council meeting.
