For the General Municipal Election on November 3, 2020, the City of Dublin has the Mayor and two (2) City Council seats up for election.
In accordance with State and City law, the Candidate receiving the most votes for the position of Mayor will receive a two-year term. The two Candidates receiving the most votes for the position of Councilmember will receive four-year terms.
For the November 3, 2020, General Municipal Election, the Nomination Period starts on Monday, July 13, 2020 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020. If an incumbent for an office does not file, the closing date for filing nomination papers for that office will be extended to Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.

While the City of Dublin does not charge a filing fee, candidates desiring to submit a Candidate’s Statement (see Binder Tab 5), per Section 13307 of the Elections Code, will be required to assume all printing costs, which are estimated to be approximately $500 per statement. Such statement shall consist of no more than 200 words, per City of Dublin Resolution No. 71-20, and a deposit of $500 must be made at the time the Candidate Statement is filed. A refund or additional billing will be made when exact costs are determined following the election.
