Thursday, October 20, at 10:20 a.m., is the "Great California ShakeOut," when thousands of people throughout the State of California are encouraged to practice earthquake drills at work, school, or home. The event is an annual opportunity to practice how to be safe during big earthquakes, which could strike at any time. "Drop, Cover, and Hold On," is the appropriate action to reduce injury and death during earthquakes.
The event is also an opportunity to review and update emergency plans and supplies; secure your home or work space in order to prevent damage and injuries; and register to receive emergency alerts.
