National Bike Month Activities
May is National Bike Month!
Celebrate National Bike Month by participating in Bike to Work Day or challenge yourself to bike to work all month long! Check out some ways that you can participate:
Bike to Work Month Challenge: Month of May
Register your company to compete regionally in the month-long Bike to Work Challenge or join with four friends to compete in the team challenge. Visit https://partners.lovetoride.net for more information and to register.
Bicycle Commuting Lunch and Learn: Tuesday, April 30, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Kick off bike month with a quick class on the basics of bicycle commuting. Lunch will be provided for those who register at bikeeastbay.org/1hr. The workshop will be held in the Civic Center Regional Meeting Room.
Bike to Work Day: May 9
Commute to work by bike instead of driving and stop by an energizer station for refreshments and free giveaways:
East Dublin/Pleasanton BART Energizer Station: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
West Dublin/Pleasanton BART Energizer Station: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Family Cycling Workshop: May 12, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The family that rides together thrives together! Join Bike East Bay’s certified instructors for a day of fun games, safety drills, skills building, and a neighborhood ride.
This workshop is for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents (suggested grade range 2nd-6th). The workshop will be at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School (2400 Central Pkwy, Dublin). Visit https://bikeeastbay.org/FCW to register!
Bike to Market: May 16
Ride your bike to the Dublin Farmers' Market at Emerald Glen Park between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on this day to receive $5 in "carrot cash" to use at the Market!
Community Bike Ride: May 18, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Join us for a bike ride led by Mike’s Bikes Pleasanton to explore Dublin & Pleasanton on two wheels! Meet at Mike's Bikes (6754 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton Gateway Shopping Center) at 9:30 a.m. for an easy-paced 11-mile ride open to all skill levels, using multi-use trails and bike lanes in both cities.
Helmets, signed waiver release and a properly working bike are required. Come early and get your bike checked out by Mike's Bikes staff. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated! Youth ages 17 & under must be accompanied by an adult. Tricycles and bicycles with training wheels are not eligible for the ride. Recommended age is 10+.
