Our preschool program follows a nine-month school year, beginning at the start of September and continuing into late May. Each school year is broken into three, 11-week sessions. Fees and tuition are paid per session. Students currently enrolled retain priority to secure their enrollment for the entire school year.

Parent Non-Participation Fees

All students will now be assessed non-participation fees prior to the onset of each session.  If a parent elects to work during a session and is able to fulfill their minimum parent participation requirement, previously assessed non-participation fees will be rolled over toward the next preschool session non-participation fees within the same school year.  Non-participation fees will not be refunded during a session; however, they may be refunded upon termination or at the end of the school year.

Parent Non-Participation Fee for Missed Work Without 48-Hour Notification

If a parent signs up to work a shift in the classroom and is unable to meet the obligation on that specific date, based on availability, the parent may reschedule during that session as long as there has been 48-hour advance cancellation notice of parent non-participation given.  Rescheduling is done by signing up on the parent sign-up calendar for any future date that is available within the same session.

If the required minimum parent participation obligation is not met, if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the onset of class, or if you are unable to provide 48-hour advance cancellation notice of parent non-participation, the following fee will apply for each applicable day of parent non-participation. Fees will be deducted from the non-participation fees paid toward the account for that session. Any additional balance due must be paid in full before the onset of future sessions.

Withdrawal and Cancellation

Services provided by the City of Dublin Preschools, which do not meet the needs of the child as determined by the parent(s) and/or the Recreation Supervisor, may be withdrawn by either party.  Cause for the Recreation Supervisor to withdraw include, but are not limited to:
  • A child having physical, emotional, behavioral, or psychological disorders that are beyond the capabilities and/or expertise of the teaching staff as determined by the Recreation Supervisor.
  • Parent(s) or guardian in disagreement, or non-support, of the Preschool’s philosophy of education, discipline, and/or policies and procedures.
  • Family members and adults acting on their behalf who exhibit behavior endangering the children, other families, or staff.
Any fees associated with such withdrawals will be returned on a pro-rated basis, less a $5 processing fee.

Withdrawal requests must be made in-person at the Shannon Community Center, 11600 Shannon Avenue or by email.  Withdrawal requests must be received within five (5) business days of your child's last day of class. 

Credits and Refunds

No credit is given for regularly-scheduled school holidays and vacation periods.  In addition, no credits are given for any days a child is absent due to illness or vacation.  You may cancel a class for a full refund (less a 10-cent processing fee) if done online up to 7 days prior to the start date or up to 4 business days in person (less a $5 processing fee).  Refunds may take up to 30 business days to receive.
