Urban Cycling 101: a Two-Part Class for Adults and Teens

This 2-part series starts with a 2-hour “Day 1” indoor class, then continues with an optional 5.5-hour “Day 2” on-the-road class. Register for both classes run by Bike East Bay at https://bikeeastbay.org/UC101. Completion of the Day 1 workshop is a requirement for participation in the Day 2 Road Class.

Day 1 Classroom Workshop

Learn basic rules of the road, how to equip your bicycle, fit your helmet, take a bike on transit, and avoid crashes by riding predictably, visibly, and communicating with other road users by your actions and signals. No bike required.

Day 2 Road Class

Join us for a half day of bike riding! We’ll cover on-road, on-your-bike practice sessions, working in small groups with the certified instructors to improve your handling skills, learn crash-avoidance maneuvers, and ability to bike confidently on any street. A functional bike and helmet is required, drinks and snacks provided.

Family Cycling Rodeo

Join Bike East Bay’s certified instructors for a day of fun games, drills, and skills building. These workshops are for kids who are able to ride a bike and ready to take to the paths and roadways with their parents.
