Strong Wind Advisory: Stay Home to Avoid Injury Due to Falling Trees and Branches - Issued March 14, 2023
Due to strong winds, trees, heavy branches, and electrical wires are falling throughout Dublin. Dublin Police advise residents to remain at home, or indoors, if possible, to avoid possible injury or damage to vehicles.
Back-to-Back Storms Expected to Hit the Bay Area - issued March 8, 2023
Beginning Thursday, another series of storms is expected to hit the Bay Area. Excessive rain could bring another chance of flooding. Sandbags are available for Dublin residents and business owners who feel their property may be threatened by flooding. Rain is expected through the middle of next week.
In the event of a severe storm, please follow these safety tips:
- Keep your car fueled or, if electric, powered. If electric power is cut off, gas stations may not be operable.
- Keep your cell phone charged. Have a car charger on hand.
- If you see flooding or downed trees, please call Dublin Police at (925) 462-1212. If you see damaged or downed power lines, please call 9-1-1.
- Check your emergency supplies (first aid kit, essential medicines, cash, food, water, non-electric can opener, portable radio, flashlights, and spare batteries) and ensure they are in air-tight bags and in handy locations.
- Clear debris from storm drains.
- Secure or remove items that can blow around.
- Keep garbage cans and cars at least one foot from the curb to avoid blocking storm water flows.
Sandbags can be picked up from the City of Dublin Corporation Yard, located at 5709 Scarlett Court. A self-serve, sandbag-filling station with bags, sand, and a shovel is also available if the pre-filled sandbags are gone. The City requests that businesses and residents limit the number of sandbags taken to 10 or fewer. Alameda County Public Works Agency also makes sandbags available at their Maintenance and Operations Corporation Yard at 4825 Gleason Drive.
A New Flood Watch Issued for Saturday Through Monday - issued January 12, 2023
With at least three more storms impacting the Bay Area in the next few days, a flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service. Expect light rain on Friday with moderate to heavy rain Saturday through Monday. The sandbag filling station at the City of Dublin Corporation Yard, located at 5709 Scarlett Court, is still in operation. Please limit the number of sandbags taken to 10 or fewer.
The City of Dublin will have crews working non-stop on storm patrol to keep roadways from flooding (clearing out drain inlets); removing fallen trees and/or branches; and monitoring the entire city for issues. All calls for service should be directed to Dublin Police Services at 925-462-1212. For emergencies, dial 9-1-1. High Wind Warning in Effect - January 8, 2023
A high wind warning has been issued for the Bay Area, as strong winds and heavy rain are expected tonight through Wednesday. With grounds already saturated, the risk of downed trees and flooding is high. The City of Dublin will have crews working non-stop on storm patrol to keep roadways from flooding (clearing out drain inlets); removing fallen trees and/or branches; and monitoring the entire city for issues. All calls for service should be directed to Dublin Police Services at 925-462-1212. For emergencies, dial 9-1-1.

- If a road seems impassable, do NOT attempt to drive through flooded areas. "Turn around, don't drown."
- If you see a downed power line, please call 9-1-1 immediately. If you see fallen trees, please call Dublin Police at 462-1212.
- Residents and businesses may be without power for some time. Plan to have flashlights and spare batteries on hand.
- Make sure you have a crate for your pets, should they need to be transported.
- Check your emergency supplies (first aid kit, essential medicines, cash, food, water, non-electric can opener, portable radio) and ensure they are in air-tight bags and in handy locationss.
- All City of Dublin trails will be closed. Stay away from canals and creeks.

Two More Powerful Storms Predicted Over the Next Four Days - January 6, 2023
The National Weather Service is predicting that two more powerful storms will arrive in the Bay Area; the first on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a second storm on Monday and Tuesday. With grounds already saturated, there is a high risk of flooding.

Additional Sandbags Available for Residents and Businesses in Need of Flood Protection - January 3
The City of Dublin has procured additional sandbags for residents and business owners in need of flood protection. Sandbags can be picked up from the City of Dublin Corporation Yard, located at 5709 Scarlett Court. In addition to a limited supply of pre-filled sandbags, a self-serve station, with bags, sand, and a shovel will be available. Please limit the number of sandbags taken to 10 or fewer.
The Alameda County Public Works Agency may also have sandbags available at their Maintenance and Operations Corporation Yard at 4825 Gleason Drive.
