Responsibilities
Staff from the Community Development Department work closely with residents, business owners, outside agencies, and other City departments to resolve health, safety, and public nuisance conditions that adversely affect the quality of life in Dublin and that are not in compliance with adopted regulations.
Enforcement is provided both pro-actively and on a complaint basis. Most code violations are resolved on the initial contact made by Staff. Staff generally works under the model of voluntary compliance within a reasonable amount of time allotted. In rare instances, penalties are assessed to those who fail to comply with the
Dublin Municipal Code.
The Planning Division primarily enforces the provisions of the
Zoning Ordinance and the
Property Maintenance Ordinance.
The Building and Safety Division primarily enforces the provisions of the
California Building Codes,
Dublin Municipal Code, and
Uniform Housing Code.
