Police services for the City of Dublin are performed under contract with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. Patrol, criminal investigation, crime prevention, and some business office functions are performed at the Civic Center location. Dispatch and some data processing functions are handled at sheriff's office facilities in Oakland and San Leandro.

In addition to Sheriff's Office personnel, six full-time City employees assist with Crime Prevention Unit programs and administrative functions. Dublin Police Services has continued a long-standing tradition of professionalism and dedication that is reflected in Dublin's low crime rate.
