All-America City Award
Dublin Named an "All-America City" in 2011
Dublin, the only California city named an "All-America City" in 2011
In June 2011, the City of Dublin was recognized as an "All-America City" by the National Civic League. This prestigious award is given to towns, cities, counties, neighborhoods, and metropolitan regions that demonstrate outstanding civic accomplishments. Dublin was chosen as one of just ten cities, and the only city in California, to receive the award.
Dublin's application documented three community projects that addressed the City's most pressing challenges - the integration of diversity and creating community unification following a period of significant growth. The three projects that the City submitted for consideration were the community's efforts to build the School of Imagination; the City's affordable housing programs; and the sustainability programs and activities that preserve our history, engage the community, and create a greener future for Dublin. A delegation of 31 residents and City staff members traveled to Kansas City for the competition. The City's presentation included a skit based on "The Wizard of Oz," where Dublin was depicted as The Emerald City, full of "wisdom, courage, and heart."
